WebQuest Project !!!

Hello dear followers !
This week we will evaluate a WebQuest  according to an evaluation rubric.Firstly, I can say that this assignment is very useful for me. Because I didn’t know anything about a webquest. Thanks to it, I learned what a webquest and how to evaluate it.I chose a WebQuest from this linkIt is about ‘‘Let’s explore the ASEAN’. It includes a journey about the Asean  in the area of  food and  tourist attractions.

You can see it in detail from this link .

EVALUATION

If we are starting with the title which is given for the webquest we can see that it is very relevant to the topic.(title : ‘‘Let’s explore the Asean.’’) The description does not provide adequate summary of webquest. But grade level is very appropriate. Also, selected keywords are somewhat relevant to the webquest. (ie. Asean, food and tourist attraction, culture of Asean)
When we look at generally, there are some broken links, misplaced or missing images. Using of  graphic elements are very limited and they are not supportive for the webquest. Also, there are some minor spelling or grammar errors but they are very limited and do not distract from the meaning. (ie. You are an traveller visiting ASEAN countries...)
In introduction part, there is nothing for drawing attention. Also, there is no appeal to learners’ interest or a compelling question or problem. In task part, informations are connected to what students must know and how they will be organized while they are work individually. (ie. You are a tourist planning to visit the ASEAN countries, and your preference are base on two aspect, FOOD and ATTRACTION.)
Process part is divided into sections where each student would know exactly where he/she was in the process and what to do next.In that, every step is clearly stated. For each step there are useful links . However, all of them are broken. So,  resources are not convenient and enough for the process.
Criteria for success are clearly stated and webquest applies multiple assessment strategies (use of rubric or checklist, reflection of project, prepost assessments, quiz etc.). In here, the rubric is given for evaluation. There is strong connection between the learning goals and standards to be accomplished at the end of webquest and evaluation process.
In conclusion part, there is no enough information of what was/were learned at the end of the activity or lesson. It is very limited. But in here, questions are given to encourage learners to extend their learning.  (ie. Welcome to your dream destination "ASEAN" there are some things in life that can only exist in dreams, or so we think. For how many times have we had visions of paradise.... gone to faraway places in search of it...)  Also,  there is an informative and enjoyful  video in this part.
Finally, in teacher part, standards are listed in words, not only numbers, and they are relevant and the links back to the standards website is given. Credits and references are given for some of the content used from external resources (graphics, clipart, backgrounds, music, videos etc.). This webquest page’s total score is 28 of 50 points for me.

My Favourite Book Project : '' A Thousand Splendid Suns ''

This week we have to wikiing by creating a project called ' My Favourite Book ' .  It is not difficult for me to prepare a page for a book. Because I read this book in advance and I enjoyed it really much. However, it is a bit confused for me because of my tiring working program. I will use projects like this in  future for my students. It is an easy way to participate students to lesson effectively and actively. You can access my favourite book project here. See you soon in a new project.

Creating a Story : A Visit To Zoo

In this project, I worked with Fatma Özdemir. First of all, we read the initial part of the story and then we decided to visit a zoo in our story. We added many animals' sounds effects to create an enjoyable project for kids. We aimed to teach some animal's names. It was a creative and usefull work for us.
Also we had not any difficulties. Absolutely, we will use it for our own students in future.
